The battle of Turai's Procession
So, at last, a "master difficulty" quest that actually earns the title. I've tried it twice with heroes+hench, and while I can can initially hold out fine, things get start to get ugly when and enemy gets thru, kills Olias and all the minions turn loose. By the third wave, all the centaurs are gone and several of my hench/heroes have DP, so I end up being overwhelmed and getting a party wipe.
I suppose this is one quest that would take at least two good human players, maybe even using lightbringer skills, to complete successfully. It might be soloable, with the right party roster, lots of attention and some luck, but for now I think I'll skip it and get back to it once I've finished the game. So, how's everyone's experience with this one?

Ive done it..
AND IT WAS HARD
what i did was head straight for one group and let the other two rampage,i defeated the one group coming from the south and all groups spawning after it.then i had to defeat the much larger north group,it worked and i held out wave after wave despite centaurs being dead, however my party soon got wiped and then i had to pick off the clerics and kill one of the margonites before my team died and respawned again, granted,it was the biggest pain in the ass i have ever had but im so stubborn and wouldnt give up,so after alot of pain, annoyance, and a 60% DP most of the Margonites where dead..one by one! That took forever, eventually i managed to hold out again, with the occasional wipe,i almost failed at the last moment when the boss came along, but the thing is his group spawned at the ressurection shrine, where i had charged towards when a wave spawned and fought things out there,so every time i died i respawned and was able to finish the job,in the end only the boss was left standing and despite my hench team's DP (and my own) the boss died.
Gawd it felt so good when the text "See Mirza Veldrunner for youre reward." was in my quest log.
Thats my experience, good luck with youre attempts!

ooo. I must persevere, then... I kinda gave up after the second party wipe, and didn't have the patience to pick the remaining enemies one by one while having over 20% dp myself. you say there is a boss too? oh, man.
sucks that I don't have meteor shower or barrage unlocked, either... I guess those could have helped a fair bit.
The other quests I don't have yet, since I still haven't crossed into desolation. Either way, It seems Anet decided to really amp up the difficulty on some PvE, huh...

did it with hench + hero's, and my team only died once which was pretty much right after they all showed up at the beginning. I didn't think it was too difficult, i'd just lock my interrupt ranger on one cleric while pounding on the other and they'd both go down hella fast - don't let them cast aegis!

I guess I easily finished the quest mainly because I'm a mesmer.... But really, it's just a long fight, and it's not that hard.

A few other torment quests too for that matter => barrage + deep freeze =

I found that easy, it was just clearing things one at a time. Troubled Keeper was harder and more fun =/

I just got the quest now. It's a laugh. I whewed when the first wave was done but was really surprised that there was a second. What type of boss is it at the end, and what elite?
Here's a screenshot of the second wave after it wiped me out. No comments on build plz .

Lol youre up against somptihng between 5 to 10 waves i think
The boss is a Necromancer.
Dont know the elite.
And when i found out there was a second wave i also went "Holy ****"
And once i was done i also thought "I can not believe i just did that!"

easy to beat. when the first wave comes, run towards the one coming from the right, kill all approaching waves from there (there should only be one from the left you can easily catch before it reaches the main group), then go onto the big group that came from the beginning, the two groups that came from the left. rather difficult as there are 4 clerics, but with at least one nuker and a MM it should be dealt with easily. run back if you need, kill slowly - i just killed them all in one bunch then run to the left side, catch all waves there, and ignore the only one coming from the right. when they stop coming from the left, get the one that came from the start, kill that, then kill the final one on the left with the necro boss [dunno elite btw ]
easy really, just dont stay at the start so they wont run you over >_>

That sounds like a good strategy. Poor centaurs are bound to die left alone there while we hunt the waves away from them, but I guess they'd die anyway.

It's ridiculous, these Margonites were walking all over my face before I could even yell "look out!". Those centaurs be damned, they were literally wiped out within seconds. I haven't been in a quest this hard since I tried to do the "Undead Hordes" at level 9.

I thought this quest was impossible. Until I learned that I could respawn indefinately.
Then it was just a battle of persistance.

Hardest master quest, and by far the worst reward.

About the only way I see it is just to keep picking at 'em as you said. I just abandoned the whole quest after fruitless tries over and over. Pick your battles, and this one just doesn't flow properly or give you anything worth a darn.
The worst flow problem is when you meet Palawa along the primary. Go out, talk to the centaur to ask him to let you talk to Palawa, only to have a cutscene - and that's it. Battle of Turai at least gives you some strategy planning fun.
